What is the Default Network Setting of my Globe Tattoo Broadband? Default setting is WCDMA Preferred. When in WCDMA Preferred, the USB dongle can shift between GPRS, EDGE, 3G and HSDPA signals
Should I adjust the default network setting of my Globe Tattoo Broadband? If your Globe Tattoo Broadband consistently receives 3G signals, then you should adjust the default network setting to get better speeds and stability.
When should I adjust to this setting? Make the adjustment only when you’re sure that your Globe Tattoo Broadband receives 3G signals.
What setting should I adjust for better broadband speeds and signal stability? Adjust the Default Network Setting from “WCDMA Preferred” to “WCDMA Only.” When the Default Network Setting is in “WCDMA Only,” the dongle will only shift between 3G and HSDPA signals thus giving you better broadband speeds and signal stability.
How do you adjust Network settings? Once the GUI is installed in your computer and launched, go to
TOOLS> OPTIONS> NETWORK> NETWORK TYPE,
choose WCDMA Only.
Will I need to manually switch settings to look for a signal if I adjust from WCDMA Preferred to WCDMA Only? Once you shift between settings, the dongle will automatically detect the available signals based on the setting you opted for.
On WCDMA Only, USB dongle defaults to 3G/HSDPA signals only.
On WCDMA preferred, USB dongle will search for either GPRS, EDGE, 3G or HSDPA. Whichever proves to be the strongest signal available in the area.
What is APN? APN stand for Access Point Name
Why is the APN relevant to me? Wrong APN Settings will not allow you to connect to the internet using your Globe Tattoo Broadband.
What is the default APN? For Postpaid: internet.globe.com.ph For Prepaid: http.globe.com.ph

A series of entrapment operations recently conducted by police and Globe Telecom security personnel resulted in the arrest of three individuals involved in the illegal sale of WIMAX modems.
Arrested in the initial entrapment operation was Alvin Garcia, also known as Boy Pasay Wimax, a resident of Merville Km, 12 Access Road, Baranggay 20,1 Zone 20 in Pasay City. A follow-up operation at his residence led to the seizure of 4 Globe WIMAX modems, a computer set and around 100 pieces of Globe Sims, which are apparently used by the suspect to clone or reconfigure Sim cards for unlimited data surfing.
Police authorities also recovered from him his personal phone which showed various transactions of WIMAX selling activities confirming he is indeed Boy Pasay Wimax.
A follow-up operation after Garcia's arrest led to the apprehension of Ericson Cagara, a resident of Block 5 Lot 3 Phase 2 Topaz Street, Celina Homes, Camarin Caloocan City. He was arrested after he contacted Garcia with intention of buying hacked WIMAX modems. One unit was recovered from him.
A third entrapment operation led to the arrest of Sohayli Gagaso, a resident of Maharlika Village in Taguig. He had also sought a meeting with Garcia with intention of buying Globe WIMAX modems.
"We are relieved that the illegal sale of Globe WIMAX modems in Pasay City had been put to an end," said lawyer Froilan Castelo, Head of the Corporate and Legal Services Group.
"We would like to appeal to our subscribers to bring to our attention any suspicious offers that they may receive concerning the sale of supposed WIMAX modems," Castelo stressed, noting that certain criminal elements had utilized popular social media site Facebook in luring subscribers into this illegal activities.
Criminal charges against the suspects for violation of Republic Act 8484, also known as Access Device Act and PD 1612 Anti Fencing Law have already been filed in court, Castelo added.
Similar to other arrest made in the past, the modus operandi has been to pull-out the WIMAX modem from legitimate subscribers on pretext of an upgrade. The modems are then reconfigured and sold at a one-time cost payment.
Castelo emphasized that legitimate subscription of Globe products and services are available through Globe-authorized sellers and distributors as well as in numerous Globe Stores nationwide.

Prepaid and postpaid Globe Telecom subscribers now have more ways by which they can enjoy their rewards points, as the telco just unveiled a revamped rewards model. Here are the key things you need to know about it:
1. Subscribers can use their Globe rewards points as a form of payment similar to cash.
In the past, rewards points earned can only be used to redeem the telco's mobile-service packages, bill rebates, gadgets, and gift certificates from partner establishments. Too often, these things require boatloads of points.
Now, Globe Rewards offers more low-priced items, such as food, beverage, and movie tickets. It also features a straightforward points-to-peso conversion rate of 1:1.
2. Points-to-peso conversion rate of 1:1 means that one point is equivalent to P1.
If a subscriber has, say, 100 points, that means he has P100.
3. Here are the partner merchants' minimum requirements:
New Globe Rewards partner merchants
More partnerships will be announced in the coming months. In fact, the goal here is to include sari-sari stores to the telco's list of partners. Globe Rewards should be applicable to the company's other services, such as Globelines and Globe Tattoo Broadband, in the future as well.
4. To redeem the Globe rewards points, just take note of these steps:
How to redeem Globe rewards points
Redemption is done instantly. For example, if you want to gas up at Petron, go to the nearest station, get its 10-digit mobile number, follow the steps above, and, well, that's it! You can already have your car tank filled with gasoline.
5. Globe rewards points are earned every time a prepaid subscriber tops up or a postpaid customer uses his Globe postpaid plan.
Every P25 spent is equal to one point. For out-of-contract postpaid subscribers, an equivalent of 4 percent of the monthly bill is converted to points.
Remember that rewards points expire and are only valid within a calendar year. More information can be found here.
The company claimed that Globe Rewards has done wonders for them. In a span of two short months—since Globe introduced its retooled platform—roughly 7 million rewards points have been redeemed. Another way to look at this is that about P7 million has already been spent on goods and services available from Globe and its partner merchants. Not bad.
